/ How it works

Survey, detach, roof coordination, reset, closeout.

MichoBuilt coordinates the solar portion of your roofing project — from documenting the existing system to removal, reinstallation and a clear completion record.

  1. 1. Document the system

We record the visible condition, the equipment we can actually observe and the project requirements. What is verified, what is only reported and what is still unknown are recorded separately.

  2. 2. Coordinate removal

The solar work is aligned with the roofing schedule. Panels and components are detached and tracked into a storage plan so nothing is lost between trades.

  3. 3. Reinstall and document

After the roof is reported ready, MichoBuilt authorizes the reset separately, reinstalls the system and records the applicable checks and any outstanding items.

  4. 4. Deliver the closeout

The completion record is reviewed in the office before it is approved, then the approved documents are shared with the authorized project contacts.

What a project record covers

  • Pre-removal documentation of the array and equipment
  • Panel and component tracking through storage
  • Removal and storage coordination with the roofing crew
  • Separate roof-ready report and reset authorization
  • Reinstallation record and applicable checks
  • Reviewed and approved completion documentation

Actual inclusions for your project are defined in the approved quote.

Common questions

Do I need the equipment model to request a quote?

Send what you have. Photos and available project documents can help us identify what still needs to be confirmed.

Can my roofer coordinate with MichoBuilt?

Include their contact information and their role on the project so the appropriate handoffs can be arranged.

Is the roof-ready report the same as reinstallation approval?

No. Roofer-reported readiness and MichoBuilt's reset authorization are separate steps.

Will I receive project documents?

Your approved project scope identifies the documentation to be provided. Eligible documents can be shared with authorized project contacts.

What if I don't know how many panels are on the roof?

That is a normal starting point. Tick “I don't know the panel count yet” on the request form; the count is confirmed during the review.
